This Basic Life Support class was taught by Mike Hain, an American Heart Association instructor –thanks, Mike!!

We learned what to do in case of a sudden emergency for someone who is choking or having a heart attack.

Basic First Aid

• How to preform CPR and
• How to use the AED after someone is in cardiac arrest
• Stop the Bleed demonstration and
• Narcan demonstration

In our Map Your Neighborhood program, blocks often lack the medical or nursing skills needed during disasters when first responders are unavailable. Learning these skills is a vital opportunity to help your community, especially during the critical first hour after an earthquake when stabilizing a situation can prevent serious escalation.
