Volunteer
There are lots of ways to help us including assisting with events, helping with fundraising, rolling up your sleeves at a beautification work party, volunteering with our digital outreach team and more. We’d love to hear your ideas too. Send us an email and tell us how you’d like to help.
Take a class
There are numerous classes offered throughout the area that can help you be better prepared at home and in your neighborhood.
First Aid/CPR – First Aid and CPR Training is available through various organizations and often through work or school. SOS in Van Nuys offers various preparedness classes including First Aid for People and for Pets.
CERT – Cert Classes are offered through the Fire Department in different areas all year long. Classes are FREE and usually are held one evening a week for 7 weeks. Find out more on our CERT page. For a complete list of classes check the CERT Eventbrite page.
Host a Map Your Neighborhood Workshop
We can help you organize your block. All that is needed is a someone willing to host 15-20 people for a couple of hours. We can provide materials and facilitate the meeting (or you can train to do it yourself). In a disaster, the people immediately around you are the ones who can help. Check out our MYN page and contact us to sign up!
