2025 Potluck in the Park

Please come to our annual MWJN potluck in Cleland Park on May 31.

Bring Something to Share!

Meet Your Neighbors!

Silent Auction with neighborhood businesses!

Have Some Fun!

WHAT YOU BRING:

If you’re not a cook you can bring a prepared dish, your favorite take out or a beverage. If you bring your own plates or utensils, please label them with your name and contact info so we can get them back to you.

WHAT WE BRING:

MWJN will provide tables, chairs, paper plates/cups/utensils, canopies and a portable toilet. This is possible through the donations by neighbors and the support from Eunisses Hernandez of LA Council District 1.

We try to supply compostable whenever possible. Please note we will have separate receptacles for trash, compostables and recyclables. These will work the same way our home black, green and blue cans work. If you’re unsure where something goes, ask someone at the food table.

A note about beverages: The Park does not allow alcoholic beverages but we will not be checking coffee cups.

WHAT IT COSTS

We do not charge for this event, but donations are gratefully accepted to help offset our costs. We accept cash, check or Venmo at the event or you can pay with a credit card or PayPal here. We are actively working on improving this process.

Bring your whole family! Kids are welcome! Dogs must be on leash.

VOLUNTEERS

The board of directors of MWJN hosts this event. We are all volunteers. We welcome other neighbors who are available to help before, during and after the event. You can sign up here or if you have questions, contact us at info@mtwashingtonjessica.org. Thanks. It DOES take a village.

SATURDAY, JUNE 17, 2023

Please come to our favorite social event! Meet your neighbors! Have fun!

Bring a dish to share – if you’re not inclined to cook, consider your favorite take out. Please label any dishes or flatware you want back with your name and contact info.

The park does not allow alcoholic beverages, but we won’t be checking coffee cups.

Kids are more than welcome!

Dogs must be on leash.

We will provide paper plates/napkins/cups etc. Most of what we bring is compostable. We will have separate trash bins for trash (non-food disposables), compostable (food scraps, paper with food on it, etc. and recyclables (bottles, cans, cardboard, plastics with logo). It’s starting to sound confusing but really it’s just like what we’re doing with our colored bins at home.

COME HAVE FUN!!!!

Jessica Triangle Work Party Sunday 9/4/22

Jessica Triangle Work Party 2016

Jessica Triangle Work Party Sunday 9/4/22 8am – 10am

The Triangle is thirsty! Please come out to water, trim some dead branches, pull some weeds and help with general clean up. A neighbor kindly allows us to use his hose and water. Citywide, hand watering is allowed before 9am. Bring gloves and any tools you prefer. Its a nice way to meet some neighbors!

Jessica Triangle is the landmark at the intersection of Jessica Drive and Cleland Avenue. Beginning in the late 90′s, local residents helped transform the triangle from a litter-strewn patch of asphalt to a beautifully landscaped drought-tolerant pocket park, and neighbors have been maintaining it ever since. You can read about our involvement in maintaining it on our website.
